Our History

Originally founded in Littleton, CO in 1978 by Whitey Johnson, J&B Tax is proudly in its third generation of ownership.

While our services and value proposition have certainly evolved through the years, two things that remain non-negotiables for us are our values and our mission.

Senior Tax Advisor

J.D. Johnson, EA

J.D.'s proud family heritage with J&B began when his father, Whitey, started the firm in 1978. J.D. joined his father in the family business in 1990 after attending UC-Denver to study tax and accounting, and has never looked back!

Favorite thing about being part of the J&B team: How everyone pulls together to achieve common goals.

When he's not in the office, you'll likely find J.D. golfing, hiking, sailing, or scuba diving!

Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist

Theresa Licata

Originally from Iowa, Theresa has helping small business owners accomplish their goals for more than 40 years! Theresa heads up the firm's payroll and bookkeeping services, and works strategically with the tax advisory team to help her clients with the day-to-day running of their businesses.

When she's not in the office, Theresa can usually be found traveling with her husband or crafting.

Adam Groves

An Ohio native, Adam has a Bachelor's Degree in Finance and a minor in Communications from the University of Cincinnati. Adam has been part of the tax advisory team at J&B tax since 2023, and loves the always-changing nature of helping clients solve big problems.

Adam has worked in the Accounting industry for more than five years, and can usually be found playing ice hockey, riding his motorcycle, or spending time with his girlfriend and dogs in his spare time.

Tax Planning Coordinator

Cameron Johnson

A native of Michigan, Cam moved to Colorado to attend CU-Boulder in 2020. With a degree in financial planning, Cam is passionate about helping J&B's clients implement tax strategies from the tax advisory team, and loves helping J&B's clients save tax money and accomplish their goals.

When he is not in the office, Cam can often be found spending time with friends or skiing.

Operations Coordinator

Anne Prentice

Anne has now been part of the J&B team for three generations of ownership!

During peak tax season, Anne helps the tax advisory team ensure that returns are ready and filed reliably for J&B's clients, and she she has been known to help out with anything else that might come up during this very busy time of the year.

Front Desk Coordinator

Vickie McFadden

Vickie has been part of the J&B team for the past few years, and arguably has both the most rewarding and the most difficult set of responsibilities on the team.

During our peak tax season, Vickie's amazing personality is on full display as she essentially is "air traffic control" for J&B's client while seamlessly fielding phone calls and coordinating schedules for the tax advisory team.

Patti Harris

Pattie has been part of the J&B tax advisory team since 2011, and loves helping her clients solve meaningful financial problems.

Not only has it been confirmed that Patti hosts the absolute best J&B staff parties, but it has also been confirmed that Patti loves advocating for and serving her clients with all of their tax advisory needs, big or small!

Wanda Sandoval

With more than fifteen years of tax expertise, Wanda joined the J&B tax advisory team in 2024.

Wanda is a proud alumnus of Colorado State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and also has an Associate's Degree in Accounting.
